4. Proof of Age.
You will need to bring a Birth Certificate or current Passport to be sighted by the Registrars office before you can be registered to play.
5. At what age can a player start?
A player must have turned 5 years of age to be registered and play in Under 6s age group.
6. Can I play in a different age group?
It is strongly recommended that you play in your age group. Some special circumstances maybe considered by coaches, managers or committee members for players to play in a higher age group, no more than one year up. Players are definitely NOT permitted to play below their own age group or more than one year above, there are no exceptions.
7. What time do I play?
Game times and location will be notified every week on this website and it is also advisable to double check on the Brisbane Junior Rugby Union website www.bjru.com.au
- Under 6s to Under 9s play Saturday mornings
- Under 10s to Under 17s play Sundays.
8. Can I play with my mates?
In most cases Under 6s to Under 11s are encouraged to play with their mates, but we can’t guarantee this especially for late registrations. For the Under 12s to Under 17s this may not always be the case as teams need to be balanced and consideration given to ensure fair and safe Rugby.
PLEASE NOTE: If numbers are low in a particular age group (usually older age groups), the BJRU encourages the combining of teams from other clubs.
9. When should I turn up next?
Check the training times above or with your Coach & Manager.
10. Where are the various Rugby grounds?
Rugby ground locations are listed on this site in the main menu to the left, the BJRU website or ask your coach or manager.
11. At what age can girls play to?
Girls can play in the mixed competition up to and including Under11s. Older girls are best to contact the BJRU direct for further information regarding competitions for them.
12. Volunteering?
No one is paid to run or organise this club, so the more YOU can help out, the better. If you are not happy with something, you are more than welcome to come on board and help ‘fix’ it.
13. Who is permitted on the field?
Strictly only registered PLAYERS, registered COACHES and MANAGERS! Parents & visitors are to remain off the field. Parents are more than welcome and encouraged to help at training, but you must be registered with the club and have or be applying for a Working with Children Blue Card.
14. Helpful Hint!
Remember, the most important person in the club to keep you up to date with what is happening is your Manager, so please make yourself known to them.
